Afghanistan Update

For the last 20 years, PWS&D has responded to urgent food needs and supported girls’ education and maternal and child health projects in Afghanistan. We are in regular contact with our partner, hoping that development projects will be able to continue. In addition, PWS&D is responding with the ACT Alliance to provide emergency relief to Afghans displaced in Kabul.

Relief in a Package

When Abdihakim became very sick and didn't improve, his mother was worried. Then a community worker from a PWS&D-supported project in Somalia assessed the three-year-old and identified him as malnourished. Abdihakim was admitted to the project, where he received therapeutic treatment and regained his health.

Join the Ride for Refuge!　

Will you be joining us on Saturday, October 2 at Ride for Refuge? This year, we're raising much-needed funds for PWS&D's food security programs. Along with the classic cycling and walking options, participants can also choose from various activities that can be done at home and virtually.

"My family and I participated in the Ride for Refuge this past Saturday. This is our second year participating and we are hoping to turn it into an annual event! What a great time to spend together and work towards something so important," shared Paul Spencer about participating in 2020.
